The picture left is the powerplant for the boat, it's a Nissan Vg 30. V6 3.0ltr approx 195Ci. This engine is a quad overhead cam with 4 valves per pot. Most of the equipment you see bolted to this baby is all hand made from the stainless steel exhausts, the inlet phlenum, the intake primary pipes all custom pipework and fittings, the list goes on! It has been a long task to make this engine as there is no "off the shelf items" which can be used in the configuration that we are using this engine in. We were using the Wolf 3D EFI controller and had some very good Dyno results the first time out. It produced and astounding 480 Ft Lbs of torque at 5100 rpm ! with only 18 PSI Boost.

Since then we have decided to change things a bit meaning a total rewire of the engine to fit MOTEC EFI to it as we needed more control over each pot and have the availability of full datalogging! This time around we are expecting a bit more from the 3.0 LTR machine. We would like to see around 550 Ft Lbs with 600hp and 30 PSI and buzz it to 7200 Rpm. We will keep you posted!

This is our hydroplane we are currently building to circuit race, which will be a very unique piece of work. We have run the boat earlier on in the year and were very pleased with the results. It is a full safety celled vessel made from timber and fibreglass and the cockpit is made from chromoly tubing with carbon fibre and kevlar using derakane resin. These are are a few pics of its first outing.
